Why is PayPal taking money from my bank account?
If PayPal keeps charging your bank account without your consent, check the automatic billing area to make sure you don't have an active subscription, and then contact the resolution center to claim your refund. When you add or edit any card in your PayPal account, we'll charge the card up to $1 USD to verify that this card is available for online payments. The charge will appear in your PayPal account activity. We don't collect the charge, so it'll show as “pending” until we've verified your card.

Once you authorise a transfer from your bank account to your PayPal account, you can't cancel it. When the transfer is complete, the money will be added to your PayPal balance. At that time, you can withdraw the money to your bank account.

Can PayPal take my money away?

The bank isn't compatible with PayPal. This may include most online-only or prepaid bank accounts. The deposit amounts that you entered to confirm your bank account were not accepted by our system. When the amounts are entered incorrectly three times, your bank account is disabled and removed from your PayPal account.
You can contact your bank and place a stop payment order on the recurring transaction. Generally, a stop payment order is only good for six months. To stop payment, you will need to notify your bank at least three business days before the next payment is scheduled to be made. Notice may be made orally or in writing.

What does PayPal charge look like on bank statement?
PayPal will also show up as a third-party vendor on your bank statement – you'll see a “PayPal Seller” there. If you're wondering how you can tell if the transaction is complete on your end, there are several things you can check. First, the transaction will be listed as “Completed” on your PayPal account.

PayPal Fees Explained
The first option “Send/Receive Money for Goods and Services” has a fee of 2.99% of the total amount. The second option “Standard Credit and Debit Card Payments” has a fee of 2.99% + $0.49.
Canceling a completed payment immediately is generally not an option because the other party already has the money. When you authorize a payment to a merchant, you agree to make a purchase for a specified amount. Once an order is placed, it's not possible to change the payment amount or number of items purchased.
