Why does my dog keep laying on my clothes?
Your scent plays a huge role in calming your pup whenever they're missing you and feeling anxious. Your clothes obviously carry your own personal scent, which your dog can smell easily. Much like a newborn baby who wants to be with their mother, a dog with separation anxiety will look for your scent when missing you.

One big reason why your dog's probably sleeping on your clothes is that she finds your scent comforting — you're her favorite person after all! According to Benson, if you find your pup snoring on a pile of your clothes in the middle of the day, just know she really, really loves you.
Much as you might look inside your wallet at a photo of a beloved family member, dogs derive reassurance from the scent of their loved ones. Your scent is thickest in your dirty clothes, sheets, and towels, so your dog will gravitate to them.
The real culprit is the scent of pheromones covering your dirty laundry. All mammals, including humans, possess sweat glands known as apocrine glands. These glands release pheromones that your pup finds irresistible and because it tells them all kinds of information about you via their enhanced sense of smell.
Closets are small spaces for your dog to hide and burrow in and they usually are doing it out of pain, fear, and discomfort.
THEY CONSIDER YOU A PACK MEMBER.
They burrow into their mother's side as puppies and grow up sleeping in a pile with their brothers and sisters. Because this is their nature, they may prefer to sleep so close to you as they seek the same warmth, security, and comfort that they would from their pack mates.
It's just like when a dog completely rolls over on their back to fully show their stomach. It's a sign of comfort and trust. When your pup falls asleep on your chest, they are showing you that they fully trust you and feel comfortable being vulnerable with you.

Sometimes, your dog will bury their head in you to be close to your comforting scent. At the same time, your dog may want to be close to you to feel safer. They feel protected when they're close to you, and they know that they are close enough to keep you safe as well.
Seat-Stealing as a Sign of Affection
Today, dogs—now fully domestic animals—see their human companions as their safety. Your scent is familiar, so your dog knows instinctively that any place you've been must be familiar and safe, too.
Sleeping together gives dogs an emotional connection to their owners. Dogs feel love and gratitude towards you, just like you feel towards them. This time together can create a stronger bond, and show your dog that you are a source of comfort to them.
Many dogs like to follow their owners everywhere, including the bathroom, with some going as far as to scratch at the door while we're using the toilet! In general, dogs follow us because they are social animals and enjoy human company.

For the most part, dogs laying on their owners is perfectly normal, and it is their way of showing that they love you. They also want to feel loved, so they require that physical touch. Dogs will often nudge you with their noses while lying on you because they want you to pet them or give them belly rubs.
Dogs who have anxiety issues often develop clingy dog behaviors. Interestingly, dogs can also become clingy if they sense our stress or anxiety. Dogs can also become clingy if you change their daily routine or make changes in the home or household that cause them stress.
Coupled with the fact that dogs inherently dislike something reaching down from above toward them, most dogs quickly learn to associate a hand reaching toward their head with discomfort or stress. This leads many dogs to become head shy, and they learn to duck out of the way of a hand reaching toward them.
Do dogs like to be hugged?
Experts in dog behavior believe that, in general, dogs do not like being embraced. However, every dog has a unique personality. Some may dislike hugs more strongly than others, and some may actually adore them.
Belly rubs induce chemical and physiological reactions that make your pup feel good while helping to decrease stress. While the scratch reflex doesn't necessarily mean your dog likes being scratched in that particular area, it doesn't necessarily indicate discomfort either.
Dogs might not understand that a kiss means “I love you,” but they quickly catch on that a kiss is something favorable. “In general, we aren't upset with our dogs when we go to kiss them, so they learn that a kiss from a human is a good thing,” says Salant.
To you, the thought of a sweaty, smelly sock is anything but appealing. To your dog, though, that sock is like a bottle filled with his favorite scent—you! Your dog's sock stealing may simply be an expression of love: he wants as much of you as he can have.
However, steak for dogs is generally okay in moderate amounts. Most importantly, look for and remove small bones before feeding steak to your dog, and ensure it's cooked thoroughly.
